Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 September 2026

This policy covers the Homse app (for customers), the Homse Pro app (for professionals), and the Homse booking service. It is written by the team that operates Homse. Where it says "we", that means Homse; "you" means whoever is using one of the apps. If anything here is unclear, write to support@homse.in and we will answer.

1. What we collect, and why

We only collect what a home-services booking actually needs. Each item below says why it exists — if a reason does not apply to you, we are not collecting that item from you.

Everyone who signs in

NameSo a professional knows who they are meeting, and you know who is coming
Phone numberSo we can call you about a booking, and so the professional can reach you on the day
Email addressOnly if you sign in with Google, which gives us your email and name
Profile photoOptional. Shown to the other party so they recognise each other at the door

Customers

Service addressStreet address, city and PIN code — the professional has to get there
Address locationThe map coordinates for that address, so the professional can navigate to the right door rather than guess from the street text
Approximate location when you open the appTo check whether we operate in your area yet, and to offer your current place as a starting point when you add an address. Asked for with the system permission prompt; decline it and the app keeps working, you just type your address yourself
BookingsWhat you booked, when, the price, and its status
Payment recordsSee section 3

Professionals

Application detailsSkills, years of experience, city and a short note, so our team can decide whether to take you on
Documents you uploadID and any certificates. Held privately, seen only by our team, used to verify you and to show a "verified" badge on your profile
Base location and travel radiusSet by our team, so we only send you work near you
Jobs, earnings and payoutsWhat you worked, what you earned, what we owe you
Rating and reliabilityBuilt from completed jobs and customer reviews. Shown to customers
Bank account detailsAccount holder name, account number and IFSC — so we can pay you what you have earned. Visible only to you and our team, never to customers

Both apps, automatically

Push notification tokenAn identifier for your device, so we can tell you a booking changed. Removed when you sign out
Crash diagnosticsIf the app crashes, we receive the error and your account ID — nothing else. No name, phone or address

2. What we do not collect

3. Who else receives your data

We use a small number of providers to run the service. Each one gets only what its job requires.

SupabaseThe data in section 1 — hosts our database and files
GoogleYour email and name, if you choose Google sign-in — for signing in
Firebase Cloud Messaging / ExpoYour device push token and the notification text — for delivering notifications
CashfreeYour booking amount and contact details — for taking payment and issuing refunds
SentryCrash reports with your account ID — for finding and fixing crashes

We also share the minimum needed between the two sides of a booking: once a professional is assigned, they see your name, phone number and service address, because they cannot do the job otherwise. You see their name, photo, rating and phone number. Neither of you sees the other's email or payment details.

We will disclose data if the law requires it — a court order, or a legal obligation we cannot refuse.

4. How long we keep it

5. Your choices

6. Keeping it safe

Your session is stored in your phone's encrypted keystore. Traffic between the apps and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is governed per-row: a customer can read only their own bookings and addresses, a professional only the jobs assigned to them, and documents only by their owner and our team. These rules are enforced by the database itself, not only by the apps.

No system is perfect. If we discover a breach affecting your personal data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

7. Children

Homse is not for children. You must be 18 or over to book a service or work through Homse. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

8. Where your data lives

Our database and files are hosted by Supabase, and some of the providers in section 3 process data outside India. Where that happens, it is because the service requires it, and those providers are bound by their own contractual and legal obligations to protect it.

9. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.

10. Contact

Email: support@homse.in

For any question about this policy, a request to see or delete your data, or a complaint, that address reaches us and we will reply.
