Delete your account

Last updated 29 September 2026

You can close your Homse account whenever you like, and you do not have to give a reason. There are two ways to do it: from inside the app, or by writing to us. Both end in the same place.

1. In the app (fastest)

If you are a professional using Homse Pro, you can close your account yourself. It takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Homse Pro and sign in.
  2. Go to My profile.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm twice — the second prompt is the point of no return.

Customers using the Homse app do not yet have this button in the app. Use the email route below and we will do it for you.

2. By email

Write to support@homse.in from the email address on your account, or tell us the mobile number you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. That is all the message needs to say.

We reply within 30 days, and in practice much sooner. We may ask one question to confirm the request really came from you — we are not going to delete someone’s livelihood on an unverified email.

3. What is erased

Closing an account removes the following outright:

Your name, phone and photoReplaced with “Deleted account”; the number and picture are cleared
Bank account detailsAccount holder name, account number and IFSC are deleted
Documents you uploadedID and any certificates
Saved addressesEvery address on the account, with its map location
Your applicationThe details you sent when you applied to work with us
NotificationsYour device push token and your notification history
Your profile as customers saw itHeadline, languages, working area and the services you offered

You will not be able to sign back in afterwards, with Google or by any other route. This cannot be undone, so if you only want a break from work, go offline in the app instead.

4. What we have to keep

Two things survive a closure, and neither identifies you to anyone new:

  • Completed bookings and payment records. Tax and accounting rules in India require us to keep transaction records for eight years. They stay attached to an account with no name, number or photo on it.
  • Records of payouts already made to you. The payout record is what we are required to keep — not the bank account it went to, which is deleted.

5. Deleting some data without closing your account

You do not have to choose between keeping your account and removing something from it.

  • Documents. Open My documents in the app and tap the remove icon next to any file. It is deleted from our storage, not just hidden.
  • Your photo, name, headline and languages. Edit or clear them yourself in My profile.
  • Bank account details. Open Bank detailsand replace them, or write to us and we will delete them — you simply cannot be paid until you give us an account again.
  • Anything else. Write to support@homse.in naming what you want removed or corrected. We reply within 30 days. If a tax or accounting rule means we must keep a particular record, we will tell you which one and why rather than just refusing.

6. When we cannot close it yet

Two situations stop a deletion, both to protect you:

  • A job is still in progress. Finish or cancel it first. Otherwise the person on the other side of that booking is left with nobody turning up and no way to reach you.
  • We still owe you money. Withdraw what you have earned, or ask our team to settle up, and then delete. We are not going to erase the account that tells us where your money should go.

The app says which of the two applies. Clear it and the deletion goes through.
